PRECAUTION

WHEN DISCONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY CABLE

(a) After the power switch is turned off, the radio receiver assembly requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

NOTICE:

  • Before servicing, enter service mode to restrain telematics communication functions and prevent the following while servicing:
    • Remote door lock and unlock operations
    • Remote engine start and stop operations
    • Warning notification function.
  • Service mode can be entered by using the Techstream or operating the remote touch.

    HINT:

    When a warning is generated due to a vehicle malfunction, the DCM (telematics transceiver) receives warning information from the combination meter assembly and sends a warning notification to the service center. The radio receiver assembly also receives the warning information sent by the combination meter assembly and displays a message in the multi-display assembly according to the malfunction.

SERVICE MODE

(a) Service mode

HINT:

To cancel service mode, turn the power switch off and on (IG) to display the service mode screen and cancel service mode.

(1) Service mode (Method 1)

  1. Turn the power switch off.
  2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
  3. Turn the power switch on (READY).
  4. Turn the Techstream on.
  5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Telematics
Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes

(2) Service mode (Method 2)

  • w/ Navigation System:

    Enter diagnostic mode of navigation system.

  • w/o Navigation System:

    Enter diagnostic mode of audio and visual system.

HINT:

Use the Techstream to cancel service mode (communication function pausing mode).

PRECAUTION FOR TELEMATICS SYSTEM

(a) If replacing any of the following parts, refer to Work Procedure of When Replacing or Removing/Installing Parts.

NOTICE:

If registration is not performed after replacing any of the following parts, the remote door lock and unlock and remote engine start and stop will not be available.

(1) Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)

(2) DCM (telematics transceiver)

(3) Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)

PRECAUTION FOR ACTIVATION

(a) When replacing the DCM (telematics transceiver), perform DCM activation.

PRECAUTION FOR TROUBLESHOOTING REMOTE SERVICE FUNCTION

(a) When troubleshooting symptoms such as when part of the remote service function does not operate normally, first check that there are no third party parts connected to the DLC3. If any such parts are connected to the DLC3, some parts of the remote service function may not operate normally.

Therefore, explain the situation to the customer, remove the parts and turn the power switch from off to on (IG) before proceeding with troubleshooting.
