Lexus NX: Short to GND or Open in Buzzer (C1ABE)

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor RH detects a ground short or open in the RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) circuit.

Both of the following conditions are met:
  • The blind spot monitor main switch (combination switch assembly) is on with the power switch on (IG).
  • The current flowing to the buzzer is below a specified value when buzzer operation voltage is being sent to the buzzer.
  • Blind spot monitor sensor RH
  • RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer)
  • Harness or connector

NOTICE:

  • When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot main switch (combination switch assembly) is on.
  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs.

Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Clear DTCs

(b) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Trouble Codes

OK:

No DTCs are not output.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RCTA BUZZER [BLIND SPOT MONITOR BUZZER] - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH AND BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the P42 RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) connector.

(b) Disconnect the X1 blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(a) Replace the RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer).
