OPERATION CHECK

INSPECT ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION

NOTICE:

Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.

HINT:

When inspecting the following functions, make sure that the map light switch and spot light switch are in the DOOR position.

(a) The interior light control illuminates the lights below.

  • Map light assembly
  • Spot light assembly
  • Power switch illumination

(b) The operations and operating conditions of this control are described below.

Operation

Condition

*: When the lights are on, if the key leaves all of the actuation areas around the doors, after approximately 3 seconds, the lights fade out.

Lights fade in and illuminate constantly

Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.

Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

When any of the following conditions is met:
  • The key is brought within any vehicle exterior detection area when the power switch is off and all the doors are closed.*
  • Any door is unlocked when the power switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.
  • The power switch is turned from on (ACC) to off when all doors are closed.
  • The state changes from any of the doors being opened to all doors being closed.

Lights fade out immediately

When either of the following conditions is met:
  • The power switch is turned from off to on (ACC) when all the doors are closed.
  • All the doors are locked when the power switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

INSPECT INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

NOTICE:

Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.

(a) The interior illumination light control illuminates the lights below.

  • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH
  • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH

(1) The operations and operating conditions of this control are described below.

Operation

Condition

Lights fade in and illuminate constantly

  • Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.
  • Lights illuminate approximately 3 seconds after power switch is turned on (ACC).
  • The power switch is turned from off to on (IG).

Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

When any of the following conditions is met:

  • Any door is unlocked when the power switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.
  • The power switch is turned from on (ACC) to off when all doors are closed.
  • The state changes from any of the doors being opened to all doors being closed.

Lights fade out immediately

All the doors are locked when the power switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

INSPECT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

NOTICE:

Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.

(a) The door outside handle light control illuminates the door outside handle lights.

  • Front door outside handle assembly LH
  • Front door outside handle assembly RH
  • Rear door outside handle assembly LH
  • Rear door outside handle assembly RH

(1) The operations and operating conditions of this control are described below.

Operation

Condition

Lights fade in and illuminate constantly

  • Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.
  • Lights turn on after power switch is turned off.

Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

When any of the following conditions is met:

  • Any door is unlocked when the power switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.
  • The power switch is turned from on (ACC) to off when all doors are closed.
  • The state changes from any of the doors being opened to all doors being closed.

Lights fade out slowly

All the doors are locked when the power switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

Lights fade out

Lights turn off immediately after power switch is turned on (IG) or (ACC). (fade-out in approximately 1 second)

BATTERY SAVING CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION

(a) The battery saving control (basic function) illuminates the lights and parts below.

  • Power switch illumination
  • Map light assembly
  • Spot light assembly
  • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH
  • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH

(1) The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

Operation

Condition

Battery saving (basic function)

The doors remain in the same condition for 20 minutes and the key is outside the vehicle exterior detection area.

(b) The battery saving control (interior light auto cut function) illuminates the lights and parts below.

  • Map light assembly
  • Spot light assembly
  • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH
  • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH
  • No. 1 luggage compartment light assembly LH
  • No. 1 luggage compartment light assembly RH
  • Vanity light assembly LH
  • Vanity light assembly RH

(1) The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

Operation

Condition

Battery saving (interior light auto cut function)

20 minutes has elapsed since the power switch was turned off, regardless of whether the doors are open or closed and regardless of the map light and spot light switch position.
