Lexus NX: Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility Not Programmed (U030051,U030057)

Lexus NX Service Manual / Vehicle Interior / Pre-collision / Pre-collision System / Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility Not Programmed (U030051,U030057)

DESCRIPTION

  • The forward recognition camera receives vehicle information from the hybrid vehicle control ECU via the CAN communication line.
  • When the forward recognition camera is unable to determine the vehicle information from the vehicle information sent from the hybrid vehicle control ECU, the forward recognition camera outputs U030051.
  • When the vehicle information sent from the hybrid vehicle control ECU does not match the vehicle information stored by the forward recognition camera, the forward recognition camera outputs U030057.

Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility Not Programmed

Once 3 seconds elapse after turning the power switch on (IG), the forward recognition camera is unable to determine the vehicle information based on the vehicle information sent from the ECM for approximately 3 seconds or more

  • Hybrid control system
  • Forward recognition camera

U030057

Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility Invalid / Incompatible Software Component

Once 3 seconds elapse after turning the power switch on (IG), the vehicle information sent from the hybrid vehicle control ECU does not match the vehicle information stored by the forward recognition camera for approximately 1 second or more

  • Hybrid control system
  • Forward recognition camera

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • When replacing the forward recognition camera, always replace it with a new one. If a forward recognition camera which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.
  • If the forward recognition camera has been replaced with a new one, be sure to perform forward recognition camera adjustment.

    HINT:

Forward recognition camera adjustment can be performed by using either "One Time Recognition" or "Sequential Recognition".

  • When replacing the hybrid vehicle control ECU, refer to the Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Check the DTCs.

Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes

HINT:

If the pre-collision system outputs U030051 or U030057, hybrid control system DTCs may also have been output. Check the hybrid control system first.

OK:

Hybrid control system DTCs are not output.

NG

GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM

OK

2.

CHECK FOR DTC (HEALTH CHECK)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.

(e) Check for DTCs.

OK:

ECUs other than the forward recognition camera do not output specification information mismatch DTCs related to the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

NG

REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU

OK

3.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

HINT:

  • When the specification stored by the forward recognition camera and the vehicle specification do not match, there is a malfunction in the specification information stored by the forward recognition camera. Therefore, replace the forward recognition camera.
  • When the specification stored by the forward recognition camera and the vehicle specification match, a hybrid vehicle control ECU with different specifications may be installed. Therefore, replace the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
