Lexus NX: System Description

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

GENERAL

The windshield deicer thin heater wires are attached to the inside of the windshield glass to help deice the window surface more quickly. The indicator light illuminates while the system is operating. The system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.

NOTICE:

If the auxiliary battery voltage becomes low, windshield deicer operation is canceled to prioritize supplying power to the power steering system.

FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

Outline

Multi-display Assembly

Sends signals to the radio receiver assembly to operate the windshield deicer.

Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly

Sends windshield deicer activation request signals to the front wiper deicer relay.

Front Wiper Deicer Relay

Receives windshield deicer activation request signals from the air conditioning amplifier assembly and supplies power to the windshield deicer wire (windshield glass).

Windshield Glass (Windshield Deicer Wire)

Receives power from the front wiper deicer relay and heats the windshield deicer.
