FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION (w/ Rain Sensor)

(a) When the windshield wiper switch assembly is in the AUTO position and any of the following conditions are met, intermittent operation according to the sensitivity setting is performed.

(1) Rain sensor output malfunction

(b) When the windshield wiper switch assembly is in the AUTO position and any of the following conditions are met, the wiper operation stops.

(1) After a wiper operation output, the wiper motor position cannot be detected for 20 seconds.

(2) Rain sensor high temperature malfunction (90°C [194°F] or higher).

(3) Rain sensor low temperature malfunction (-15°C [5°F] or lower).

(c) When the washer switch is on for 32 seconds or more, the washer operation stops.
