CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS

HINT:

  • In troubleshooting, confirm that the problem symptoms have been accurately identified. Preconceptions should be discarded in order to make an accurate judgment. To clearly understand what the problem symptoms are, it is extremely important to ask the customer about the problem and the conditions at the time the malfunction occurred.
  • Gather as much information as possible for reference. Past problems that seem unrelated may also help in some cases.
  • The following 5 items are important points for problem analysis:

What

Vehicle model, system name

When

Date, time, occurrence frequency

Where

Whether the problem occurs at a specific location.

Under what conditions?

Whether the doors were locked or unlocked, whether the power switch was on, whether the hybrid control system was starting.

How did it happen?

INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE

(a) Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

Standard Voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

HINT:

A simple method to determine whether the auxiliary battery is discharged is to operate the horn.

4.

TURN POWER SWITCH ON (IG)

NOTICE:

When using the Techstream with the power switch off, connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the Techstream and the vehicle begins. Then select the vehicle type under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access. While using the Techstream, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the Techstream and the vehicle.
